The process of total building commissioning involves the Total Quality Management process by verifying that buildings are designed, constructed and operate according to the owner’s needs.
TBC accomplishes this mission by leading the commissioning team—including owners and operators, design architects and engineers, general contractors and subcontractors, and end users—to deliver a building that functions as it was intended. Ideally, we begin commissioning activity early in the design process in order to help the design team develop a workable system at design, and ultimately, ensure it is a working system at completion.
TBC delivers the value of our sustainable design and LEED™ experience to every commissioning project. Our experience with LEED™ certification requirements helps us guide our clients toward the development of sustainable, high-performance buildings that cost less to operate, are healthier for occupants and less damaging to the environment.
TBC has served as the commissioning authority for nearly a dozen projects in the Western United States seeking various levels of LEED™ certification.
TBC’s parent organization, Spectrum Engineers, has a total staff of 75, led by 24 professionals who are licensed experts in the fields of mechanical, electrical, technology, lighting and acoustical engineering.
The origin of our firms date back 27 years. Spectrum Engineers is ranked as the 80th largest integrated engineering firm in the nation. The size of our firm is important because it facilitates independence, enabling us to draw from a large pool of professional engineers.
